MARTIN BURGUEZ & HIS RHYTHM COMBO

Martín Burguez & His Rhythm Combo is a band dedicated to paying tribute to the Rhythm & Blues that shone in the 40’s and 50’s, with a repertoire of original songs mixed with some classics of the genre.
The sextet led by singer and guitarist Martín Burguez is made up of some of the most outstanding musicians on the Blues and Rhythm & Blues scene in Barcelona; Pere Miró on baritone sax, Arnaud Desprez on tenor sax, Oriol Fontanals on double bass, Arnau Julià on drums and Alberto Burguez on piano. Tradition meets youth on stage for a night of pure adrenalin.

The band’s influences range from early Rhythm&Blues artists like Big Joe Turner, Nappy Brown, Chuck Willis or Tiny Bradshaw, to great references of Blues and Jump Blues like T-Bone Walker, Pee Wee Crayton, Johnny «Guitar» Watson or BB King. Thanks to its original songs and arrangements, it proposes a show that refers to the aesthetics of the 40s/50s and at the same time immerses you in a fresh and personal proposal.

THE DARKSIDERS

THE DARKSIDERS is a swing band from Valencia, it’s our houseband, by joining a passionate set of musicians with a long trajectory playing in the Lindy Hop scene. They offer a trip back in time, playing tunes from great jazz masters as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Illinois Jacquet, Johnny Hodges and many others.

Our up-to-5-piece horn section creates a vibrant and energic sound, while the rhythm section will smoothly guide your feet to the dancefloor.

One of the band’s distinguishing aspects is their link to the dance scene. Many of them dance Lindy Hop and other dances of African American heritage. This love of dance is reflected in the repertoire, which includes their favorite tunes to dance to.

JOVE BIG BAND SEDAJZZ

Jove Big Band Sedajazz is a Valencian Big Band of teens. Twenty-three musicians with a very clear goal: to learn and enrich themselves with the repertoire of a Big Band.

They’ll keep us dancing during the day! They’ve got a beautiful repertoire prepared for us.

Demonstrating that people have a natural predisposition toward music, the Jove Big Band Sedajazz brings together boys and girls of different ages who are able to communicate individually through their instruments and form part of a unit in which everyone finds their place.

The appeal of this new big band’s repertoire, selected by the members themselves, is based on its combination of standards and arrangements of great hits from the history of Jazz: soundtracks, funk, rock, and Latin jazz.
With the goal of sharing this educational experience so that it can serve as an inspiration to other children, parents, and educators, the Sedajazz children’s groups regularly visit various educational institutions as well as children’s festivals, where they perform with a single purpose: music itself.

The new Jove Big Band, the Kids Band, and the youngest, the Happy Band, are the soul of Sedajazz. These children’s groups are born from the collective musicians’ desire to awaken a love of music and foster talent through education. With the goal of enjoying learning, the boys and girls of the Sedajazz Kids Band have become role models.
